Those of you who know this blogger, know that this is my favorite event of the year.  Why?  Incredible music, great people watching, incomparable location in the California desert. Tickets go on sale this week.

Tuesday Travel: Capri Chic

"La Dolce Vida" was invented here and we're its greatest fan.  La Fontelina Beach Club is one of those "heaven on earth" places where the setting and the food and wine make magical and unforgettable memories.  Arrive by speedboat and avoid the vertical hike, let the staff create a luncheon for you from their daily specials, and don't forget to order a bottle of rose...or two.

La Fontelina Capri

La Fontelina of Capri is one of the most beautiful and exclusive bathing establishments and restaurants in the world, but it is also a place - a magical place. Here at the feet of the famous Faraglioni, nature is at its best: the colors of the sea and the reflections of the rocks are glorified amidst the silence, great and powerful. It is also a historical place, where Roman emperors once made it a place of leisure and delight.
The Arcucci and Gargiulo families have passionately and lovingly maintained La Fontelina for over half a century, caring for every detail. Their hospitality is proverbial, their cuisine is unique and unforgettable. The restaurant is open only for lunch from mid-April to October.International, local and original cuisine. Once on the island reservations is recommended.
The Beach: Shallow reefs, no sand, not suitable for children. Boat shuttle Service to Marina Piccola every afternoon, sea conditions permitting.

Location

Restaurant La Fontelina is situated on the little beach at the feet of the Faraglioni rocks, one of Capri's most famous tourist attractions. La Fontelina can be reached by foot, by way of a pleasant walk along Via Tragara, or by private boat.

The Dishdasha

FROM AQABA, JORDAN TO PALM SPRINGS, CA the dishdasha has been a cool alternative to shorts and boardshorts.  This simple tunic is made from cotton worthy of Frette and has beautiful handstitched embroidery around the neck and sleeves.  In Dubai, we even saw chic businessmen wearing them with french cuffs.  We're not sure how they'll play out in Indian Wells, but they sure are great for local backyard pool parties here.

Summer Sandals

MISS TRISH of CAPRI or Miss Trish's sisters and copycats ruled the day at Trevor Project's Dive In held in Palm Springs yesterday.  We even liked the New York muscle boy promoting PAUL SMITH on his tennies.

The "Gold" Watch

SUMMER TIME  Memorial Day weekend might be the unofficial start of summer, but it is THE weekend to break out summer fashion and accessories like the "gold" watch. This one is a gem and TIMEX is the maker.
